Elizabeth Taylor, the late iconic Hollywood star possessed an astonishing jewelry collection which includes a 33.19-carat diamond ring and a pear-shaped 16^th century pearl from Richard Burton who is one of her seven husbands.

According to Associated Press, the said Elizabeth Taylor jewelry collection valued at $30 million will be auctioned at Christie’s auction house on December 13-14 in New York.

“These are the top jewels that Elizabeth Taylor received from the great loves of her life, Mike Todd and Richard Burton,” said Rahul Kadakia, a jeweler expert at Christie’s. “They’re from moments in life that were very dear to her,” jewels that were purchased in Bulgari in Rome, at Cartier in New York and at auction.

The jewelries were so dear to Taylor that she described a memoir in 2002, “My Love Affair with Jewelry,” how she acquired each piece she owned.

“I never, never thought of my jewelry as trophies,” Taylor wrote. “I’m here to take care of them and to love them. . When I die and they go off to auction I hope whoever buys them gives them a really good home.”

On the evening of December 13, eighty pieces of the iconic jewelries will be sold. The next day, 189 pieces more gems will be sold. The rest of the jewelries which is about 500 pieces will be sold online simultaneously.

Taylor’s haute couture and ready-to-wear fashion, accessories, 20^th-century decorative arts and film memorabilia from her home in Bel Air will be sold by Christie’s on December 14-16 but details was not disclosed yet.

The whole collection will be exhibited at Christie’s New York galleries from December 3-10.

Before the auction, the top 80 iconic jewelry pieces will be shipped to Geneva, Paris, Hong Kong, Dubai and Los Angeles and several of them will be shown in London and Moscow. Serious collectors will be given the chance to try on the jewelry by appointment.

Proceeds from the Elizabeth Taylor jewelry collection auction will go to Taylor’s estate and a portion of the proceeds from the exhibition admissions and publications which are related to sales will be given to The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
