Rebecca Black - Bullying
Rebecca Black, the 14-year-old teen who became an overnight sensation on the internet decided to pull out from her school because of bullying.
Black became an instant celebrity after her hit “Friday” was uploaded on YouTube. It reached over 167 million views since it was released in March.
According to ABC news, when the video spread over the internet, many expressed their comments on the said video and some were cruel and personal. They say things like “you’re so fat and you’ll never be pretty,” “you suck at singing,” “I hope you go die,” and “I think you should get an eating disorder because it will make you prettier.”
Black finally decided to be homeschooled because the teasing and harassments she receives became more persistent.
“When I walk by they’ll start singing ‘Friday’ in a really nasally voice,” said Black. “Or, you know, they’ll be like, ‘Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?’
Although she managed to get rid of her peers from bullying her, the online critics are still there for her to deal with.
